Refund & Cancellation
How to cancel your subscription and request a refund for any in-app purchases.
Nextdoor is a free application. The core features of Nextdoor — including local alerts, community posts, and neighbour recommendations — are available at no cost. Any in-app purchases or subscription upgrades are processed entirely through Apple's App Store, and refund requests must be directed to Apple.
1. Free Application
The Nextdoor app is free to download from the Apple App Store. There is no cost to create an account, verify your address, post in your neighbourhood, receive alerts, or access core community features.
As there is no charge for downloading or using the core Nextdoor application, no refund is applicable for the app download itself.
2. In-App Purchases & Premium Features
If Nextdoor offers optional premium features, advertising tools for local businesses, or subscription upgrades, these are transacted exclusively through the Apple App Store. This means:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase
- Recurring subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- Your Apple ID account is charged within 24 hours of the renewal date
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
We as a website do not process payments or hold any payment information on your behalf.
3. How to Cancel on iOS
To cancel a Nextdoor subscription on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings on your device
- Tap your Apple ID / name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find and tap Nextdoor
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm
Alternatively, you can manage subscriptions through the App Store: open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then tap Subscriptions.
After cancellation, you will continue to have access to any paid features until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged for the next period.
4. Requesting a Refund from Apple
Because all purchases are processed by Apple, refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find the Nextdoor purchase in your purchase history
- Click Report a Problem next to the relevant item
- Select the reason for your refund request and submit
Apple reviews refund requests on a case-by-case basis and typically processes eligible refunds within 3–5 business days. For Apple Support, call 0800 107 6285 (UK, free from landlines) or visit support.apple.com.
5. UK Consumer Rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK consumers may have additional rights regarding digital purchases:
- You have a 14-day cooling-off period for digital purchases, which may be waived if the digital content has been made available and you agreed to this at the time of purchase
- Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described
- If digital content is faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or partial or full refund
For disputes that cannot be resolved through Apple or Nextdoor directly, you may contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline at 0808 223 1133 or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
