Subscription Terms
Everything you need to know about Nextdoor subscriptions, billing cycles, and how to cancel.
Nextdoor is a free app. All paid features, if any, are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store using your Apple ID. We do not hold or process any payment information directly.
1. Overview
The core Nextdoor application — including local alerts, community posts, neighbour recommendations, and the free & for-sale marketplace — is available at no cost. Nextdoor may offer optional premium features or tools for businesses as in-app purchases. These are governed by Apple's subscription and payment terms in addition to these Subscription Terms.
2. Billing & Automatic Renewal
When you subscribe to a paid feature through the App Store:
- Your Apple ID account is charged at the time of initial purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as selected)
- Renewal charges are applied to your Apple ID account within 24 hours of the renewal date
- The price charged will be the price shown at the time of purchase, unless you are notified of a price change
- No additional action is required to renew — renewal is automatic unless cancelled
3. Free Trials
If a free trial period is offered for a premium feature:
- The trial begins on the date of activation
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the subscription price
- To avoid being charged, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends
- Free trials are typically available only to users who have not previously subscribed to that feature
4. Price Changes
If the price of a subscription changes:
- Apple will notify you of the price change before it takes effect
- You will be given the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel your subscription
- If you do not accept the new price, your subscription will not renew at the new price
- Existing billing periods are not affected by price changes
5. How to Cancel Your Subscription
To cancel a Nextdoor subscription before it renews, follow these steps on your iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings → tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find and tap Nextdoor
- Tap Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation when prompted
Alternatively, open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then tap Subscriptions to manage your active subscriptions.
Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.
6. Access After Cancellation
When you cancel a paid subscription:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
- You will not be charged for the following period
- Access to premium features will end when the billing period expires
- Your Nextdoor account and all free features remain accessible after cancellation
- You can re-subscribe at any time through the App Store
7. Refund Eligibility
Refund requests are processed by Apple, not by us. To request a refund:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Select the relevant Nextdoor purchase
- Submit a refund request with your reason
Apple considers refund requests on a case-by-case basis. UK consumers may also have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
